We love to celebrate success! There is nothing more exciting than getting a certificate in Assembly. We get to take some time to celebrate a goal that's been achieved, someone who has learnt something new or when one of us shows that they have been caring and respectful learners. We do lots of clever things in Numeracy. We have been ordering objects according to size. We ordered teddies- Bradley was amazed when we found the ginormous teddy! We made towers. Mason and Finn thought carefully about the 3d shapes they needed to construct their towers. We've made interesting patterns with a multilinks cubes. Honor ordered the rods too (Mrs Kearns loved playing with these when she was at school). Such fun!!!
We had the best day ever at Waimairi Beach! We learnt some amazing skills about how to be safe at the beach. NZ Surf Life Saving Guards taught us how to be safe. We know to swim between the flags, always swim with a friend and have an adult around, we have to know our limits and Slip, Slop, Slap, Wrap! It was heaps of fun going on the bus. We went to the surf Lifesaving Club house. We then went down to the beach and made sandcastles and played some beach games. The best part of the day was when we went for a swim. We jumped and swam in the waves. The weather was beautiful. Thanks to all the helpers who came along too!!!
We've been STORY TELLERS! We have been learning to tell the tales of the Gingerbread Man. Just like the little old lady we made our own gingerbread man. They were delicious and lucky for us not one ran away. We also been making puppet shows to tell the story. Madison even preformed it for us for Show and Tell. We've been writing about it too.
