Room 2 Poetry Competition

Room 2 were amazing at learning and performing a poem or nursery rhyme. Each superstar stood up in front of the class and shared their poem. Everyone was brave and excited. Mrs Kearns found it so hard to select only two people we had to have a semi final with Room 1. Eilidh and Ryder were selected to represented Room 2. They did an amazing job at the Junior Poetry Competition. Eilidh performed Little Boy Blue and Ryder performed We see Leaves. They were awesome. We were all super proud when Ryder came third equal. Well done everyone- you were fabulous!!!

We Love to Move!

Room 2 loves getting outside and moving. We love our PE sessions. We do Sport once a week with Matt from the Belfast Rugby Club. We have also had a skills session with Canterbury Junior Cricket. We learnt about catching and throwing a ball. We played a game too. Logan from Canterbury Touch Rugby has taught us some handy tips for the up coming Touch Rugby season. We also love to celebrate our class mates awards and trophies from their weekend sport. 

Well done to Finn, Ava and Benjamin who had an awesome season with the Bull Dogs.

100 Days at School

Can you believe it we have been at school for more than 100 days this year!  We celebrated by learning what the number 100 number means, we did lots of art and crafts and we shared a healthy lunch to party!!! We have been learning to read and write and problem solve with our amazing friends at school. Time is flying by......

Certificates and Moments of Achievement

Well done to our Room 2 Super kids who have received certificates in our assemblies. Mila,  William and Ryder we are so proud of your achievements. You are working so hard and Mrs Kearns is so proud of your achievements- particularly in Reading.

A special congratulations to Liliana who recieved the Care Principal's Award...  you take care of your learning, you care for your friends and always show kindness  (Mrs Kearns loves her gallery of pictures too) 😊

Friday fun on Room 2

It was time to discover and play... we had builders and designers making train tracks and mystery lands for dinosaurs. We had chefs cooking up a storm in the kitchen and we even set up a restaurant and had a tea party... we had to take turns, share and manage our time carefully... most of all we had an amazing time with our class mates!!!

Beach Education was Awesome

We had the best day ever at Waimairi Beach! We learnt some amazing skills about how to be safe at the beach. NZ Surf Life Saving Guards taught us how to be safe. We know to swim between the flags, always swim with a friend and have an adult around, we have to know our limits and Slip, Slop, Slap, Wrap! It was heaps of fun going on the bus. We went to the surf Lifesaving Club house. We then went down to the beach and made sandcastles and played some beach games. The best part of the day was when we went for a swim. We jumped and swam in the waves. The weather was beautiful. Thanks to all the helpers who came along too!!!

Gingerbread fun!

We've been STORY TELLERS! We have been learning to tell the tales of the Gingerbread Man. Just like the little old lady we made our own gingerbread man. They were delicious and lucky for us not one ran away. We also been making puppet shows to tell the story. Madison even preformed it for us for Show and Tell. We've been writing about it too.

NZ Youth Pipe Band

The NZ Youth Pipe Band came to do a concert. We were all so impressed. The music was really LOUD and the bag pipes and drums were awesome. We even go to take turns and have a go. It's Mrs Kearns favourite! It was great to see and hear all the instruments up close!

Disco Fever

We had an amazing time hitting the dance floor... with some rocking tunes, flashing lights and some smooth moves... lots of us had an awesome time at the disco!
