Spring Time in Room 2

We have loved celebrating Spring in Room 2. We have been learning about farms. In Story Telling we have learnt The Little Red Hen. We have learnt about growing crops and plants and the importance of helping each other. Mason brought in his pet lambs into our class. They felt soft and we heard the calling out to their mums. We celebrated Daffodil Day by wearing yellow and green. We have made Spring Art and learnt about daffodils and Spring blossoms. For House Colour Day we celebrated the change of season. We did lots of  art and crafts and we sprung up and down with skipping ropes.

Proud moments

We love to celebrate success! There is nothing more exciting than getting a certificate in Assembly. We get to take some time to celebrate a goal that's been achieved, someone who has learnt something new or when one of us shows that they have been caring and respectful learners. We love to read!

Learning to read is one of the most exciting things to learn at school. We read all sorts of different things in Room 2. We read poems, books, we retell our Story telling tales. We like to read with our Year 5/6 buddies,  we read to each other and we can curl up with a book on a bean bag. We love our trips to the library each week too.

We are Artists🎨

Everyone in Room 2 love being artists. We have learnt painting skills and drawing techniques. We are learning about collage and creating art pieces by layering paper and other materials.

Book Week Fun

Everyone loved Book Week. We got to dress up as our favourite characters. We read heaps of stories from Margaret Mahy.  We did lots of art and crafts. We even had a competition to see how many books we could read in one week. Our Year 5 and 6 buddies came to read to us too. We all LOVE reading!!!

Our Grandparents'Visit

During Book Week we had our lovely Nanas, Pops, Grans and Nannys come and visit us at school. We read books with our friends and they even read to us. Eilidh's Nana bought bookmarks for all the children in the class. Thanks so much! It's great showing the special people in our lives what we can do at school.

It's all Action Stations in Room 2

In Numeracy we have opportunities to manage out own time and choose maths activities that we enjoy. We can play maths games, do puzzles, learn with our friends solving problems. It's heaps of fun!
