Maori Language Week

Kia Ora, our last week of term it was Maori Language Week and we spent the week learning new waiata, saying lots of new words in Te Reo and we learnt new stories. Many of us made poi with the big kids and Miss Truesdale. We made puppets of the myth, Maui and the Big Fish... Te Ika a Maui. It was tu meke!

NZ Youth Pipe Band

The NZ Youth Pipe Band came to do a concert. We were all so impressed. The music was really LOUD and the bag pipes and drums were awesome. We even go to take turns and have a go. It's Mrs Kearns favourite! It was great to see and hear all the instruments up close!

Audience Reader- Emily

Emily did a wonderful job reading to us. She read a fabulous book about kittens. We were so impressed at how she could even read up side down!!!

Kelly sports

Kelly Sports came to school to show us how to play a heap of different sports. We tried cricket, rugby, relay races and throw and catch games. It was awesome. We worked as a team and had heaps of fun. Kelly sports will be on Monday after school and it's just for year 1-4.

Assembly Star Jordan

Well done Jordan! For your fabulous learning at school. You always try your best and you are amazing!!!

Scientists in the kitchen!

We made jelly to experiment with heating and cooling. We learnt to make the jelly we needed BOILING water to turn the solid jelly crystals in to liquid and then we needed a fridge to COOL the jelly liquid into solid jelly. The best part was testing how it tasted. We love doing experiments!!

Celebrating Kevin's learning

Well done Kevin. You got a certificate in assembly for all your hard work and great learning. Well done!!!
