Scientists in the kitchen!

We made jelly to experiment with heating and cooling. We learnt to make the jelly we needed BOILING water to turn the solid jelly crystals in to liquid and then we needed a fridge to COOL the jelly liquid into solid jelly. The best part was testing how it tasted. We love doing experiments!!

Disco Fever

We had an amazing time hitting the dance floor... with some rocking tunes, flashing lights and some smooth moves... lots of us had an awesome time at the disco!

A special assembly for Room 2

Well done to Mitchell. He was awarded the class certificate for  all the amazing effort  he had been putting into his learning. Also Monique and Mitchell won a prize for their amazing holiday reading. Quinn was also lucky. She was listening so carefully  and being so respectful during assembly that she got into the assembly  prize draw and won the prize for the Juniors. Awesome  stuff Room 2!

Our first school trip!!

One rainy Monday a bunch of very excited explorers took a trip to the Canterbury Museum. They travelled in style... a bendy bus that stretched right down the road.  The explorers discovered interesting things- dinosaur bones, tarantulas, Early Maori artifacts,  a movie about a Paua shell house, amazing birds and so much more.... the explorers had fantastic parent help to lead them the way. The explorer's teacher was so impressed by the questions that were asked and manners that the explorers had... they discovered so much!!!!

Easter fun!!!

We had a great time celebrating Easter. We made easter baskets with our buddy class. It was great to have their help to do all the tricky bits. We also had an Easter Egg hunt. We had a find the hidden number to color the picture- our prize was a delicious chocolate egg! We had a eggcellent time!

Sea Week Extravaganza- The Parade

This week was Sea Week. We ended the week with an amazing dress up day and a parade.  We had scary sharks, mermaids and even the whole ocean. We kept losing Mitchell as he was always camouflaged!  We danced in a parade showing everyone how amazing we looked. It was heaps of fun!

Show and Tell and Mrs Roo

In Week 3 Jacob told us about what Mrs Roo got up to for the weekend. Mrs Roo had fun playing on Jacob's tramp. Solarah brought in her my little pony that she gad decorated beautifully.  Mitchell brought in his Transformer, Bumblebee,  it was awesome how it could change. Everyone shared their news!

Super Kids!

Everyone in Room 2 gets to be the Super Kid. They are the leader for the day! They are Mrs Kearns' number one helper. They call the roll in the morning, take the milk list to the office, lead our brain gym and our lines when we walk around the school.  A huge thanks to one of our teacher aide's Karen who made our Super kid chair really flash and made us an awesome cape!  We really are Super Kids!

Heads Start fun!

We have started our Head Start programne. We are learning to take turns,  share, use our imaginations and most of all gave fun!
